About

The CKP Food Planning Task Force means we take a regional approach to conduct long-term planning activities related to food, nutrition, and agriculture.  We focus on a whole system approach to food from child to senior and growing to accessibility. Work includes collaboration, education, policy development, and sustainability.

Despite the abundant supply of food, access to healthy food is often limited.  Healthy options are limited to what types of food are grown, how they are marketed, what is available in concessions and vending, what children are served for school lunches, and what is on our dinner tables.  Barton County Food System Assessment

Breastfeeding Coalition

Product Manager

This task force provides breastfeeding resource information and education to community members and healthcare providers; and Promotes breastfeeding policies and lactation areas at work sites for mothers returning to work.

The Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition, Inc. (KBC) is comprised of individuals from a wide variety of organizations, agencies, and private businesses all working collaboratively to promote and protect breastfeeding in order to improve the health of Kansas families. The KBC welcomes and encourages participation from anyone who is interested in breastfeeding advocacy in Kansas.

In Kansas, 80% of mothers initiate breastfeeding. These mothers are more likely to patronize businesses where they feel comfortable. Breastfeeding moms need all the support they can get. By taking the “Breastfeeding Welcome Here” pledge businesses agree to provide a welcoming environment where breastfeeding mothers are able to sit anywhere and enjoy a welcoming attitude from staff, management, and other patrons while breastfeeding.

The goal of this campaign is to encourage more women to breastfeed their babies and for a longer duration by assisting our communities to become more friendly toward breastfeeding families.  Take the pledge!
